Frequently Asked Questions
How do I change the Bible translation?
Tap the settings icon (⚙️) in the app, then select your preferred translation from the
dropdown menu. You can also compare two translations side-by-side by selecting a second
translation.
How do I adjust the font size?
Open the settings modal and use the font size slider to adjust the text size from 12px to
32px. Your font size preference is saved automatically.
Does the app work offline?
Yes! littleBible works completely offline. All Bible content is stored locally on your
device, so you can read anywhere, anytime without an internet connection.
How do I navigate to a specific book and chapter?
Use the book and chapter dropdown selectors at the top of the screen. Simply tap on the
current book or chapter name to see all available options.
How do I customize the theme color and dark mode?
Open the settings modal and go to the "Theme Color" section to choose from 8 colors
(Purple, Blue, Teal, Green, Orange, Red, Pink, Indigo). Under "Appearance" you can set
light mode, dark mode, or match your system. Your preferences are saved automatically.
How do I navigate between chapters?
Tap anywhere on the reading area to show or hide the floating navigation buttons
(previous/next chapter). You can also tap the book or chapter selector at the top of the
screen to jump to a specific book and chapter.
Does the app save my reading progress?
Yes! The app automatically saves your current book, chapter, selected translation, font
size, and theme color. When you reopen the app, you'll be right where you left off with
all your preferences intact.
How do I listen to the Bible (text-to-speech)?
Tap the speaker icon at the bottom of the screen to open TTS controls. Tap play to hear
the current chapter read aloud. You can pause and resume; the app supports English and
Chinese. Speech is generated on your device only; no audio or text is sent to our servers.
Can I use the app on multiple devices?
Yes, you can install littleBible on multiple devices. However, your reading preferences
and progress are stored locally on each device and don't sync between devices.
Is my data private?
Absolutely! littleBible does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. All
data (reading preferences, Bible content) is stored locally on your device only. See our
Privacy Policy for more details.

Troubleshooting
App Won't Open
- Make sure you have the latest version installed
- Try restarting your device
- Uninstall and reinstall the app
Database Errors
- Uninstall the app completely
- Reinstall from the app store
- This will reset the database and should resolve the issue
Translations Not Showing
- Ensure you're using the latest app version
- Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app
- Check that the translation name appears in the settings dropdown
Font Size Not Saving
- Make sure you're adjusting the font size in the settings modal
- Close and reopen the app to verify the setting persists
- If issues persist, try reinstalling the app
Text-to-Speech Not Working or Sounds Wrong
- Ensure your device volume is up and not on silent
- On Android, if resume replays a few words, we recommend pausing and resuming again; the app will continue from the correct position
- Check that you have a chapter loaded; TTS reads the currently displayed chapter
